WElcome to Mountain View!
We are excited to have you start attending Mountain View High School next year! We know you probably have a lot of questions about how to register for classes, so we created this video presentation for you. If you have questions, please reach out to your junior high counselors - we're certain they can help you!
This form will walk you through the main classes you are required to have as a sophomore (10th grader) at Mountain View High School. The back page also includes a template you can use to plan your classes for next year.
The Master Schedule shows you all of the classes being taught at Mountain View High School next year. (Some of these classes are not available to sophomores, and some require teacher approval, so you won't see all of these options when you go to Arena Scheduling.) The most helpful thing about this document is that it shows you which class period each class is offered; use this to plan your schedule.
The Class Options form shows you which classes count for each credit. For each category, you can see how many credits are required for graduation (for example, you need 1.5 credits of Art). If you still need to fill your Art requirement, you can use this form to see a list of all the classes we teach that count for Art credit.
You might notice that some classes are in multiple categories - for example, Digital Photo 1 can count for either Art credit or CTE credit. The general rule is that the class will go wherever you need the credit the most; if you already have all of your Art credit, Digital Photo 1 would go to CTE. If you think your class is going toward the wrong credit, let your counselor know and we will look into it.
