DISTANCE EDUCATION

Distance Education is a partnership between Utah Valley University and high schools. The courses taught through the Distance Education program are taught by UVU Professors and broadcast into MVHS in real-time.

These are Live Interactive courses which allows MVHS students to take college credits with out leaving our Campus.  These courses are taught on the college day/time schedule which can make it challenging to fit them into your MVHS Schedule. For example, English 1010 may be taught Tuesday & Thursday from 8:30-9:45.  This makes a challenge to add other A1/A2 or B1/B2 classes.

Your counselor is happy to help you try to create a schedule that makes room for these courses.  The sign-ups for these courses are the same as Concurrent Enrollment course.

Here's some basic steps for how to sign up for Distance  Education:
  • Determine if there are any Distance Education courses at MVHS you would like to take
  • Make sure you meet the Pre-Requisite requirements (i.e. GPA, Test Scores, etc)
  • Register for those classes at MVHS
  • Enroll as a UVU Concurrent Enrollment student for $35 (only have to do this step once)
  • Sign up for your courses with UVU
  • Pay UVU ($5 per credit hour. For example, English 1010 is a 3 Credit class and will cost $15)
